Moscow shares its experience in developing an intelligent transport system with colleagues from Mexico City.

Moscow continues to strengthen international cooperation in urban transport. Together with the Moscow Government University, the Department of Transport organized an intensive 10-day training course for specialists from the Mobility Secretariat of Mexico City. The program combined theory, practice, and visits to key urban transport infrastructure facilities.

During the training, the Mexican specialists:

  • Studied the operation of one of the largest photo and video surveillance systems in the world.
  • Became familiar with modern solutions for traffic management in a megacity.
  • Learned how Moscow applies intelligent approaches to the installation and adjustment of traffic lights.
  • Visited the Mitino electric bus depot, the Unified Operation Control Center, the Traffic Management Situation Center, and the Research and Development Center for Autonomous Transport.

Moscow regularly conducts such training programs. Previously, participants included transport officials from Brazil, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

“Under the directive of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we share our experience in implementing advanced transport solutions with colleagues from other countries. We regularly train specialists from foreign city transport departments. In November, a delegation from the Mobility Secretariat of Mexico City thoroughly familiarized themselves with the development of the intelligent transport system in the capital,” noted Maksim Liksutov.
