Over the past few years, we have carried out large-scale work to update the rolling stock:
🔹 Since 2020, we have updated it on the Circle, Lines 6 and 7. We have equipped the BCL, Lines 15 and 16.
🔹 We have started to update the trains on Line 2: the share of new cars already exceeds 50%. We will fully update it by the end of the year.
🔹 We have received 560 cars of the Moskva-2024 series.
🔹 The first Moskva-2026 cars have entered service.

The Moskva-2026 series trains are among the most technologically advanced in the world, setting new standards for comfort and safety. They are made from domestic components. The cars retain the advantages of previous series: powerful air conditioning systems, wide doors, convenient inter-car passages, adaptive lighting, line-colored illumination, USB and Type-C ports, and numerous information screens. Compared to the “Numerical” series, the maximum capacity of the train has increased by 10%, and the doors have become 32% wider.
Additionally, the Moskva-2026 features updated plastic in some interior elements, as well as new glass on the handrails of the entrance area and the rear-view camera housing. The futuristic lighting of the front section has been redesigned—the shape of the headlights has become more elongated, making them appear as an extension of the light strip on the front of the train. Changes have also been made to the design of the “passenger-driver” communication block, including improvements for passengers with limited mobility.
“Today, the Moscow Metro holds a leading position in train renewal among the metros of Europe and America. The share of modern rolling stock has grown to nearly 80%—back in 2010, this figure did not exceed 13%. This is all thanks to the large-scale and systematic work we are carrying out on the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. We plan that by 2030, more than 90% of the cars in the capital’s metro will be of the modern generation,” said Maksim Liksutov.
