RN-Uvatneftegaz’s Production Efficiency Improvement System Generates Savings of 2.7 Billion Roubles

In 2025, RN-Uvatneftegaz (a subsidiary of Rosneft) implemented 84 projects aimed at improving production efficiency, generating economic benefits totalling 2.7 billion roubles. Additionally, the enterprise’s specialists developed 20 new projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency throughout the year.

The most effective development at the Uvat project fields is the drilling of open horizontal wells over 1,000 metres deep. This method not only reduces the construction cycle for horizontal wells by almost three days, but also replaces the need for imported equipment. It is expected that this project will have an economic effect of 923 million roubles.

Using short-circuit indicators reduced the time needed to locate faults in power lines, thereby increasing the reliability of the power supply to oil production. During construction of the 110 kV Barrel power line, using a 110/35 kV configuration significantly reduced costs by eliminating the need for 6 kV equipment.

Improving the efficiency of the enterprise was also achieved through optimising the cluster site configuration and transitioning to pitless drilling. Reducing the area of the cluster site backfill and the number of slabs used lowered capital costs by 12%.

During the eight years of implementing the Production Efficiency Improvement System, employees at RN-Uvatneftegaz have introduced 132 projects into production and successfully completed the testing of eight innovative domestic technologies for use in drilling, well workover, power engineering and mechanised production.

In addition, RN-Uvatneftegaz employees submitted more than 500 efficiency proposals in 2025, 114 of which were recommended for implementation. The enterprise carries out optimisation in all areas, including increasing labour productivity and the quality, reliability and durability of products, saving material and labour resources, improving working conditions and industrial safety, and reducing environmental impact.

One of the key elements of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy is improving production efficiency. The Company is implementing a programme to reduce operating costs and capital investments, which includes introducing advanced technological solutions.

Vankorskaya GTPP Generates 20th Billion kWh of Electricity

Since beginning operation in 2010, the Vankorskaya gas turbine power plant has generated 20 billion kWh of electricity and 5 million Gcal of thermal energy. The plant’s gas turbine units primarily use associated petroleum gas as fuel, with an average daily consumption of 1.6 million cubic metres.

The Vankorskaya GTPP supplies electricity and heat to the Vankor oilfield, which is operated by RN-Vankor (part of Rosneft’s oil production complex). Prior to its connection to the country’s Unified Energy System in 2015, the plant was the sole electricity provider for the Vankor production site. Connecting to the UES has greatly increased the Vankor field’s electricity supply options.

Approximately 12,000 energy-saving measures were implemented in the Vankor cluster in 2025, reducing electricity consumption by 55 million kWh. The most significant impact was achieved by using energy-efficient submersible pumping equipment for mechanised oil production.

Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft Strategy. The Company and its subsidiaries carry out systematic work aimed at rational use of resources, optimisation of electricity consumption, and distribution of electricity loads.

Rosneft to Deliver One Million Tonnes of Cargo to Northern Krasnoyarsk Territory During Winter Delivery Season

RN-Vankor (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex) has begun delivering cargo via the Northern Sea Route and winter roads to the Vankor and Payakha clusters, which are located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Almost 1 million tonnes of cargo are expected to be transported this season.

Six sea vessels are involved in the deliveries via the Northern Sea Route during the winter navigation period. Two icebreakers provide icebreaking services. The main logistics hubs for receiving and unloading ships are the Taimyr production bases, the Bukhta Sever port terminals, and the Vorontsovo and Karaul ice berths.

The range of goods delivered includes metal structures, pipes, cables, reinforced concrete products, building materials, technological equipment, specialised machinery, and motor vehicles. These resources are essential for constructing and operating oil production and hydrocarbon transportation facilities.

Cargo is transported over land via winter roads and ice crossings over rivers, totalling over 2,000 km in length. Laying winter roads involves more than a thousand specialists and around 460 pieces of equipment. These motor routes connect the main production facilities in the Taimyr, Dolgan-Nenets and Turukhansk districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as those in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. These routes are used to transport cargo that arrived at material and technical resource bases during the summer navigation period to oil production facilities via winter roads, as well as cargo transported year-round via the Northern Sea Route. Over 2,000 pieces of freight equipment are involved in winter road operations, which will transport over 800,000 tonnes of materials and resources this year.

Winter roads serve both business and social purposes. They are a vital transport route for the indigenous people of Taimyr, enabling nomadic reindeer herders to maintain their traditional way of life. They also provide tundra settlements with food and essential supplies.

Rosneft Allocates Over 1.5 Billion Roubles to Development of Education in Russia

In 2025, Rosneft allocated more than 1.5 billion roubles to support educational projects and organisations. The Company implemented 19 infrastructure projects for universities and colleges across nine regions of the country. With the Company’s support, class and laboratory equipment in educational institutions in Ufa, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as well as other cities in the Urals, Siberia and the Far East, was upgraded.

Under an agreement between Rosneft and the Yugra government, the Simulation and Accreditation Centre of the Khanty-Mansiysk State Medical Academy in Nizhnevartovsk was modernised. In order to train students and interns and accredit doctors, the centre is equipped with a virtual operating theatre and training equipment, as well as six transformer stations. Samotlorneftegaz participated in the installation of a modern training complex at Nizhnevartovsk State University for practical training in the maintenance and automation of power systems.

With the Company’s support, two educational and industrial clusters were established in the Krasnoyarsk Territory as part of the federal Professionality project, with the aim of training highly qualified workers for the oil industry. The clusters were created in partnership with the following major employers: RN-Vankor, Vostsibneftegaz, RN-Burenie, RN-Servis and TBS-Logistics. The Krasnoyarsk Technical College of Welding Technologies and Energy and the Krasnoyarsk Technical College of Transport and Service acted as base training sites for the clusters’ establishment. These colleges are equipped with modern laboratories, work areas and workshops where 625 students have begun training in conditions that closely resemble actual production.

Large-scale educational projects were also implemented in Tomsk, Samara, Orenburg, Ufa, Angarsk, Ryazan, and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where the Company’s enterprises updated the infrastructure capabilities of partner universities and colleges.

Rosneft’s scientific institute in Tomsk supplied Tomsk Polytechnic University’s laboratories with specialised equipment. Scientists are using it to study droplet precipitation processes in industrial fluids and develop electric pipeline heating methods.

With the support of Orenburgneft, a modular laboratory was renovated and equipped at the Samara State Technical University, and computers and office equipment were purchased for the Oil and Gas Department at the Orenburg State University. Specialised educational equipment was also purchased for the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University.

The Syzran Refinery and the Samara State Polytechnic University branch have a long-standing partnership: one in three employees of the enterprise are graduates of this university. With the refinery’s support, the university established a training complex comprising four interactive laboratories equipped with computer simulators for training students in Oil and Gas Processing and Chemical Technology disciplines.

The Angarsk Petrochemical Company provides annual support for the development of educational infrastructure at two of the region’s leading universities. High-performance computers, specialised software, and multimedia equipment were purchased for the Faculty of Technology at the Angarsk State Technical University. The Department of Chemical Technology at Irkutsk National Research Technical University had its laboratory equipment upgraded.

The Ryazan Oil Refining Company’s partnership with Ryazan State Radio Engineering University, the only university in the region that trains chemical engineers, dates back 15 years. In 2025, the plant supported the renovation and equipping of specialised laboratories for petroleum chemistry, general inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and catalysis.

The Komsomolsk Refinery provided assistance with renovating and equipping the general chemistry laboratory at Komsomolsk-on-Amur State University. Two classrooms at Komsomolsk-on-Amur Ship Mechanics Technical College were also renovated and kitted out with interactive technology and laptops.

As part of its corporate continuing education system, Rosneft’s School-College-Enterprise programme cooperates with more than 200 educational institutions, including 82 Russian and foreign universities, 65 colleges and 56 schools. The corporate programme has been in operation since 2005 and aims to build an external talent pool from among school and university students in the regions where the Company operates.

Rosneft’s base departments at the country’s leading higher education institutions implement specialised educational programmes, hold conferences and internships, and develop and publish educational and methodological materials. Company employees participate in state final examinations during thesis defence and teach technical disciplines, which makes the student learning process effective and practice-oriented.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than 30 specialised training programmes were developed to meet the needs of oil companies. Corporate research institutes and manufacturing enterprises oversee more than 30 basic departments at the country’s leading universities. The training programmes are tailored to the production needs of the oil and gas sector, and Rosneft’s unique corporate software, such as RN-Sigma, RN-KIM and RN-Geosim, is successfully used in the training process.

As part of a comprehensive training programme, more than 6,000 students completed internships at the Company’s enterprises in 2025, including key partner universities such as Lomonosov Moscow State University, MGIMO University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), Far Eastern Federal University, and others. During these internships, students and postgraduates work with cutting-edge equipment, participate in research projects, and acquire the practical skills necessary for a successful career in the industry. This partnership contributes to the development of science and education, providing the industry with qualified specialists capable of solving tasks of any complexity.

For example, at the RN-CIR corporate Research and Development Centre, students learned about methods for producing catalysts for oil refining. The corporate Institute of Geology and Development of Combustible Minerals runs a unique educational programme called the School of Geonavigation, during which students observed the process of remotely controlling well drilling in Siberia from Moscow. University students also learned about the production processes of other Rosneft enterprises, including one of the oldest oil refineries in the country, the Saratov Refinery.

To select and motivate the best students, Rosneft enterprises are implementing career guidance projects throughout the country. In Yakutia, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha held a series of popular science lectures called Scientific Mic for schoolchildren and students in 2025. Komsomolsk Refinery, in collaboration with a partner university, opened a Young Chemist club. In Udmurtia, employees of the Izhevsk Oil Research Centre demonstrated VR technologies and laser terrain scanning equipment used at the enterprise during Career Days. Bashneft, in partnership with the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University, held an open competition for schoolchildren, and more than 100 students took part in the annual case study championship, Future Orientation, in Tyumen.

Rosneft also creates opportunities for scientific and teaching staff to develop their skills: teachers can gain valuable practical experience and learn about modern technologies by observing the production process first-hand on internships.

Бизнес-форум состоялся в г. Бразилиа в рамках проведения 8-го заседания Российско-Бразильской комиссии высокого уровня 5 февраля 2026 года.

Как в ходе панельной сессии подчеркнул заместитель генерального директора по продажам и маркетингу Михаил Стёркин, для ФосАгро Бразилия – это традиционно один из ключевых экспортных рынков: 

«В прошлом году мы поставили бразильским аграриям 1,7 млн тонн удобрений. Это в 2,5 раза больше, чем 10 лет назад. За тот же период наша доля в общем импорте фосфорных удобрений Бразилией увеличилась почти в 2 раза до 16%. Сегодня ФосАгро – крупнейший мировой поставщик сложных и комплексных удобрений в Бразилию. ФосАгро имеет широкую линейку минеральных удобрений – мы производим 58 марок, в том числе 16 с микроэлементами. Это позволяет учитывать специфику регионов Бразилии и предлагать фермерам наиболее рациональные решения».  

При этом компания реализует в Бразилии целых ряд важных гуманитарных инициатив. 

«Мы запустили международную платформу Pro Agro Lectorium на английском и португальском языках. Она стала международным образовательным хабом в области современных агротехнологий, получила статус официальной образовательной платформы Рабочей группы по агробизнесу Делового совета БРИКС и победила в конкурсе BRICS Solutions Awards. Почти 170 ведущих академиков и практиков со всего мира, в том числе спикеры из Бразилии, записали более 420 лекций по агрономии и агрохимии, растениеводству и животноводству, инновациям и цифровизации в сельском хозяйстве, экономике и ответственному земледелию. ФосАгро за последние годы также запустила в Бразилии работу 60 почвенных лабораторий, задача которых – оценка качества и безопасности удобрений, мониторинг здоровья почв. Инициатива реализуется совместно с ФАО ООН.

Свыше 50 молодых исследователей из Бразилии стали получателями денежных стипендий в рамках Летних школ по зелёной химии, организованных ФосАгро и Международным союзом теоретической и прикладной химии (ИЮПАК). Грантовая поддержка оказывается ученым и в рамках совместного проекта ФосАгро, ЮНЕСКО и ИЮПАК «Зеленая химия для жизни».

Rosneft’s leading design and engineering centre in Tomsk is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Thanks to their unique expertise, the scientists at the corporate institute have become pioneers in information modelling and 3D design technologies within the industry.

In 2025, engineers in Tomsk developed more than 30 projects using information modelling tools. A digital model of the country’s largest oil pumping station, covering an area of 100 hectares, created using domestic software, was among the winners of the national Information Modelling Leaders competition.

The enterprise has over 80 state-registered digital products, many of which are being implemented throughout Rosneft’s production chain. One of its key developments is GIS-RN, the first corporate software for consolidating geospatial information, which has been recognised as the best digital solution for the oil and gas industry.

Since 1997, the Tomsk Institute has developed a scientific and analytical centre for researching core samples, formation fluids, process fluids and chemical agents. Today, it comprises a complex of core storage facilities equipped with over 600 pieces of unique laboratory machinery. This includes meso- and microtomographs developed using in-house technologies.

Over the past four decades, the institute’s employees have implemented hundreds of projects related to the development of deposits and the construction of production infrastructure, main oil pipelines and modernised oil refineries and other facilities in Russia’s largest oil and gas provinces. They have also created unique design solutions for infrastructure construction in the harsh climatic conditions of Yakutia, Eastern Siberia, Kamchatka and the Far East.

The Tomsk Institute is a reliable social partner in the region. Its work in the field of human resources policy has been recognised with multiple awards from federal ministries and agencies. In 2025, the institute won first place in the nationwide Best Practices in Youth Employment competition. This victory was achieved in the ‘PRO Mentor: effective practices for the development of young professionals’ category.

Thanks to its collaboration with leading universities and research centres, the Tomsk Institute of Rosneft not only develops scientific potential, but also contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists by supporting educational initiatives. Rosneft Scientists Conduct Unique Study of Ancient* Oil Varieties

Geochemists at Rosneft’s Tomsk Research Institute have published** the results of a 30-year study into ancient oil varieties. The findings are important for reconsidering the history of hydrocarbon formation. This new understanding of oil’s structure will improve the accuracy of oil and gas prospect assessments and the efficiency of deposit development.

This pioneering study, which was unprecedented in terms of its duration and scope, aimed to investigate alkylbenzenes, a key oil component that affects the quality of gasoline. Between 1998 and 2025, specialists from the Tomsk-based institute analysed over 500 types of oil from 11 oil-producing regions in Russia and overseas.

Thanks to technological advances in the study of alkylbenzene composition in oil samples, a machine learning-based approach has been employed for the past two years. The resulting models have accurately determined the origin of the oil and the conditions under which it formed.

High concentrations of tert-butylbenzene, a substance previously considered uncharacteristic of such geological formations, have been detected for the first time in a number of ancient oil varieties in Eastern Siberia (the Kuyumbinskoye and Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye fields, which are developed by Rosneft enterprises).

The results of the study help to more accurately determine the initial source of the oil’s formation. The presence of tert-butylbenzene indicates that the oil belongs to the Riphean age (ancient varieties). This data is used in basin modelling to predict oil migration and the oil and gas potential of the territory, as well as to inform field development approaches.

Bashneft Provides Modern Equipment to Medical Facilities in Ufa

Bashneft (a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company) has supplied three hospitals in Ufa with state-of-the-art medical equipment. This modern technology will improve the quality and accessibility of medical care for residents of the capital of Bashkortostan and the wider region.

City Clinical Hospital No. 13 has been equipped with a modern X-ray machine, a fluorography device, an ultrasound scanner, and surgical endoscopic instruments. With the support of Bashkir oil workers, Ufa Clinical Emergency Hospital has acquired the latest video endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment. These allow for the high-quality diagnosis of internal organs and minimally invasive surgery. Clinical Hospital No. 21 has been fitted with a high-tech operating table complete with a surgical lamp, a skin graft perforator and a dermatome — a specialised instrument used in plastic surgery for external tissue procedures. The use of this new equipment will significantly reduce patient rehabilitation time and increase the overall efficiency of these medical institutions, which treat more than 600,000 people each year.

Support for healthcare is one of the key priorities of Rosneft’s social policy. The Company is a consistent supporter of medical infrastructure development in the regions where it operates. It provides medical facilities with modern equipment, promotes the adoption of advanced technologies, and improves the qualifications of medical personnel.

Since 2017, Bashneft has implemented over 50 major healthcare projects in the Republic of Bashkortostan. For instance, the local hospital in the Petrovskoye settlement in the Ishimbay District underwent major repairs and equipment upgrades. A medical complex with a capacity of 500 visits per day has been built in the settlement of Verkhnyarkeyevo in the Ilishevsky District with the support of the Bashkir oil workers.

These initiatives are part of the Company’s long-term programme to develop the region’s social infrastructure.

Rosneft Organises Round Table Discussion on Conservation of Steller’s Sea Eagle in Khabarovsk Territory

Employees of the Komsomolsk Refinery (a subsidiary of Rosneft) and scientists from the Zapovednoe Priamurye Nature Reserve have held a roundtable discussion on issues related to conserving the population of Steller’s sea eagles, which are predators listed in Russia’s Red Book. Leading Russian ornithologists from Lomonosov Moscow State University and Amur State Teacher’s Training University attended the event, as well as specialists from the regional environmental protection prosecutor’s office and others.

Thanks to the support of Rosneft, the long-term project ‘Under the Strong Wing’ is successfully studying and protecting Steller’s sea eagles in the Khabarovsk Territory. The collaboration between the Komsomolsk Refinery and the Zapovednoe Priamurye Nature Reserve focuses on studying an important indicator species of the Amur River basin ecosystem.

During the project, field expeditions were organised in the Udyl Nature Reserve. Remote observations of birds were also conducted using photo and video equipment, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, laboratory studies were conducted for the first time on samples of fish consumed by eagles and the feathers of the birds of prey.

Ornithologists have collected valuable information about the lives of birds, enabling them to conclude that, despite the general decline in the global population of Steller’s sea eagles, the population in the Lower Amur region is stable. The most favourable breeding grounds for the birds are the shores of the protected Lake Udyl, where around 150 nests have been found.

During the discussion, the experts highlighted the project’s promising nature, given the many gaps in scientific knowledge about the life of Steller’s sea eagles. Ornithologists also emphasised the exceptional importance of the information obtained during the project for updating Russia’s Red Book and for developing environmental protection recommendations for companies operating in the Amur River basin and along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. These materials will also supplement educational programmes for schoolchildren and students.

Preserving the environment for future generations is one of the key areas of Rosneft’s development strategy. The Company and its subsidiaries are implementing a number of comprehensive programmes to preserve biodiversity and natural resources in the regions of operations. They are also striving to ensure environmentally friendly production processes and minimise their environmental impact. Ornithological projects are given special attention. The Steller’s sea eagle is one of the largest birds in the world, and it nests only in the Russian Far East. Its global population is estimated to number between 5,000 and 7,000 individuals, around 1,200 of which live in the Khabarovsk Territory.

The species is listed as rare and highly vulnerable in all existing Red Books. The decline in their numbers is largely due to human activity, but there are other reasons as well, such as slow reproduction rates and changes in the hydrological regime of rivers.
